In May of 2000, broadcasting history was made when Dan landed his first radio job in Sedona, Arizona. (OK, not history, but he does intend to make his mark on it!) As a child it was always a dream to work in radio and sports broadcasting. Now, having enjoyed working in formats such as AM/FM, internet radio, voiceovers, sports play-by-play and public address announcing, his broadcasting career has spanned over 20 years!

McGuinness returned to the broadcast booth in Summer 2018 as the Public Address Announcer for the Spearfish Sasquatch wrapping up the inaugural season in the Expedition League. Later in October 2018 Dan joined the Rapid City Rush hockey club as their new Public Address Announcer, returning to hockey after a five year layoff. Dan spent three seasons, (2007-2009), working for the Joliet Jackhammers baseball organization in the Northern League in Joliet, Illinois also as Public Address Announcer. Dan says about working at the minor league level in professional baseball was “some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my life!”

Of course after many years of already working in the industry, he decided to go back to school to learn more about audio/video editing, producing and writing. So, in 2014 Dan became a graduate of The Illinois Media School Chicago Campus, (formerly Illinois Center for Broadcasting).
